Our Story
From a small ice cream parlor to a bistro and bakery
Lækjargata, Reykjavík.
1971
Our story began in the summer of 1971 when we opened a small ice cream parlor in the heart of Reykjarvík, Lækjargata Street. In those years people from all corners of the city flocked to the center where the small parlor greeted them with a smile.
Over the years Skalli has developed slowly but surely. After 1980 we started offering various small dishes and over time this aspect of the business grew and became more ambitious.
Today the bistro is still owned by the same family and despite having undergone a lot of changes over the last 5 decades our goal remains the same.
